OUR PROCESS

Inital Assessment

During your initial assessment, a practitioner will complete an analysis of your standing posture as well as gait cycle (walking and running) on a self-propelled treadmill.

This analysis will allow us to pinpoint your movement and structural imbalances which will provide key information utilized to guide your training based on your body's needs.

Periodically, we will reassess your posture and gait mechanics to modify your training and execution of corrective exercises based on the current holding patterns of your body.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

Myofascial release (MFR) is one tool used in Functional Patterns methodology that you will learn to help making lasting changes to your current structural and movement imbalances.

MFR is a self-guided massage that targets your fascia (connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, tendons and bones). MFR techniques help alleviate tension and tightness, leaving your body more mobile and pliable for the next step of the process; corrective exercises.

Corrective Exercises

Corrective exercises work on the backend of MFR.

You will learn corrective exercises that will apply the needed tension to your tissues to fundamentally change your movement and structure.

After using MFR to release improper tensions in your body, corrective exercise are used to correctly re-tension your body.

Naudi Aguilar, the founder of Functional Patterns, spent two decades developing these corrective exercises with the intention to replicate the movement patterns of world-class athletes.

Corrective exercises are detailed and require proper attention and execution to ensure your structure and movement changes towards regeneration not degeneration (the guidance of a trained practitioner will ensure this).

Dynamic Movement

Once you’ve developed the right muscular support and coordination that create pain free movement, you will be taught how to move more dynamically.

This phase allows you to organize the potential of your new movement capabilities and transfer them to real-world activities such as the sports and hobbies you enjoy.

At this level of training you will be able to challenge your cardiovascular system, increase muscle development and improve athleticism all in a way that is sustainable. Conditioning you to avoid injury and continue to build a body that is resilient and increasingly injury-prone.
